Contact Work
Sooner or later, as our campaign gathers steam, VIP's are going to want to get on the bandwagon. At first, most are likely to be other media celebrities who are sympathetic to the idea of Oprah in the White House. As time goes on, politicians, authors and other types of celebrity will sign on as well. Since such persons are able to get the attention of and communicate with a large number of people at one time, we need individual volunteers to stay on their cases and make sure they get the latest and greatest information about the campaign to pass on.
The people who take on this labor are acting like agents, keeping their clients up-to-date on the Oprah for President - 2008 effort. Major media outlets can also use single individuals as our contact people. At present, our major effort is recruitment, but we must plan ahead for when the campaign really catches fire.
There are some personalities we would like you to contact immediately, if you are so inclined. If you would rather contact Patrick personally first, click HERE.
- Houston, TX: If you live in the Houston area, you might call the local media and ask if they are aware of local teacher, John Lemaster, who is featured...with his class...on page 81 of OPRAH for President, Run, Oprah, Run. Perhaps they would like to interview him or his students?
- South Bend, IN: If you are located in the vicinity of Notre Dame University, you could call their Public Relations department and ask them if they would like to comment on its mention on page 6 & 7 of OPRAH for President, Run, Oprah, Run? Will they comment if they are sent a copy? Is Professor Crowe free to comment? Does the University book store handle the book? How about the t-shirt? Would the student newspaper like to review the book? Is it true that the author attended there? Send all the answeres to this "interview" to the South Bend Tribune.
- Chicago, IL: Call Meagan Carberry of the Chicago Triibune. She recently did an interview with Patrick and you could interview her for our Web site. Is she an Oprah fan herself? Does she think we can collectively get Oprah to run? If she runs, will she win? Has she ever met Oprah personally? Etc.
- Grand Rapids, MI: Jarret Jakubowski is featured on page 5 of OPRAH for President, Run, Oprah, Run. He's the editor of the Self-Service Car Wash News...considered the "Bible" of that industry...and was one of the first supporters of the Mr. Crowe's 2004 promotional effort to get Oprah to run for president. You can write Patrick and ask him for details...phone number, asddress, etc...or call Patrick at (816)-363-6428 (or toll-free: 1-866-OPRAH08) and talk to him about it. Jarret bills himself as a right wing conservative and does not personally support Oprah, but is an enthusiastic Crowe backer, an entertaining talker and a good interview subject.
