This film was released in 2006 and is a werewolf movie. Over the past few years, we have been getting one awful werewolf movie after another, and this one follows that trend. I do not know what the studio was thinking releasing this garbage, which did pretty badly in the box office. That alone proves a point not to bother seeing it.The story is alright to begin with, but acts like it was going somewhere. This plot does not have any surprising twists, a lot of plot holes, and was just terribly written. When an audience goes to see a horror film about werewolves, we hope for a few violent scenes, mystery and some action. We get none of these, which is a huge disappointment.
Acting has never been the horror genre's strong point, but this is dreadful. Direct-to-video horror releases have had better acting than what you see in Skinwalkers. The character's relationships seem very fake and forced. Nobody seemed to grasp the concept and depth of their character. They delivered their lines poorly and just made the movie even worse.
The visuals and make-up are the strong point of the horror genre, and once again, we do not even get that. There is a lot of CGI effects which are all laughable. They seem very misplaced at the wrong moments and needed to be timed better. This factor of the movie seems rushed and looks like not very much effort was put into it.
Overall, it is a bad, lackluster werewolf movie. Don't expect something as good as Ginger Snaps because you will not get anything even close from Skinwalkers. It is the worst movie of 2006 and maybe the worst ever made in the werewolf sub-genre. If you are smart, you will stay far away from this disgrace.
Next movie: Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

Transformers began with cartoons and action figures. Many years later, it finally hit the big screen as a live action film. Critics raved about the first, but brutally killed this one. I completely disagree with them on every level. This is not supposed to be thought about as much as they did. It is an action film, not about story or character development. The story was quite simple as is almost every action movie. Although it is simple, that does not mean that it cannot still work. Transformers 2 picks up from soon after Transformers 1 ended. The stories for the two films are different, but it helps to have seen the first before seeing this.
If anybody else has noticed, Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf are very talented actors. They provided very realistic interactions with not just each other, but the CGI graphics that were not there on set with them. They both give just what this movie truly needed, which is something that gave the look and the attitude of the film. They are perfect for the parts and gave a much stronger performance than they did in the previous film.
Visuals are the most important thing about this movie and the makers put a lot into it. The CGI effects were stunningly detailed and later in the movie, I forgot CGI was even being used. The autobots (the good) and the decepticons (the bad) had a great look to them. The designs that were used were spectacular. The explosions and war scenes were extremely well done. There were interactions with real life and the CGI throughout and explosions were real on set and looked great.
Overall, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen is this summer's action movie. It has everything from comedy to hardcore action. It is similar to the first Transformers movie, but everything was kicked up a notch. Any fan of Transformers or any action fan will be extremely pleased to buy a ticket to see this summer's greatest action film.

This movie was shown at the Sundance Film Festival and instantly got great reviews. I waited many months anticipating to see this. Although, there is some bad news, since it is only being shown in limited release in Los Angeles and New York. If you don't live in either of these two places you have to wait for DVD.The story is something that is unique. It is rare and I have never heard of this type of story. When you watch this, you will know what a true good story is. It is sad, but a masterpiece.
The acting was pretty good. Sam Rockwell did a wonderful job playing the main character Sam Bell. It is very tough to act when there are barely any other actors, but he accomplished it well. He had a one man show and did a fine job. He gave it energy and passion, something not many actors can do.
The visuals of this movie are important. At points it looks real, in others it looks like CGI, but it is neither. They used models to do all of the moon scenes. Stop motion was used, as well, and it looked great. They were realistic and looked nearly perfect, especially for a lower budget movie.
Overall, the movie was fairly good but had one huge flaw. This big flaw is the pacing. It went very slow and I almost fell asleep two or three times. Once it begins, it is entertaining. I suggest this mostly to the science fiction fans, but everyone should give this at least a chance. If you can't go to the theaters, then rent it when it goes to DVD.
