Emily Rose really plays with your mind. This film blurs the line of reality and fiction, or is it fiction? That is up to you to decide and believe me, after watching this movie you will have decided. There is no "in-between"s or "I don't know"s. Whatever you choose, I think that you will enjoy this horror/courtroom drama (which, by the way, has never been done before to my knowledge) .

Attorney Erin Bruner ( Linney ) decides to tackle the case of a priest convicted of murder. She, however, does not find out that the "victim" was supposedly possessed until after she agrees. A cocky state lawyer takes her on with a case he believes has already been won. The priest ( Wilkinson ) leaves her in confusion about her life, career, and beliefs. A large part of the film proceeds with flashbacks through the eyes of Emily and the priest. That is where the horror begins and ends. In between these, are the court scenes which make you question whether it truly was murder, or possession. Was she simply a misdiagnosed epileptic?

The only thing that I have to complain about is the advertising. For some odd reason, films have been advertising themselves as a certain genre only to turn out different. I was not expecting the court to take such a serious role in the film. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but I would have liked to delve more into the story of Emily. This is based on a true story, and I have to commend it for not boring me to sleep. It was a fairly decent movie, but be prepared for some breaks between the horror.

Music and Lyrics (2007)

…will make you laugh and cry…

I rented this movie a while back only expecting a half-way decent movie. It might have had a few good scenes, but it would be unlikely that it will blow me away. Boy was I wrong! Music and Lyrics defines what a romantic comedy should be. It has wits and a great cast. Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore were terrific together and the plot progression keeps you intrigued. This film is definitely on my "must-buy" list and it may be on yours after watching it.

Washed up boy band singer, Alex Fletcher is given a chance to regain his fame when a pop sensation offers him the deal of a lifetime. All he has to do is write a song. Sounds simple, right? Well, it may have been if he could think of some lyrics. That is where Sophie comes in. She becomes quite more than a quirky gardener (I guess that is what you would call it, she just waters plants). During one of her visits, Sophie accidentally interrupts one of Alex's sessions with a lyricist that is helping him write the song. What she didn't realize, is that her idea just saved his sinking career and she may become famous herself.

This is my favorite Drew Barrymore movie. She was okay in 50 First Dates and Charlie's Angels, but she really shows off her acting ability. Though most would disagree, I believe that the chemistry on screen was amazing. They just...fit. If you are looking for something that will make you laugh and cry this is it. There is nothing else that I would recommend. Music and Lyrics deserves ever star it has received.

My Rating = Four and a Half Stars

I, Robot (2004)

...it does have amazing special effects.

Will Smith has never been my favorite actor. Actually, he never even came close. I know I'll be stoned by the "Fresh Prince" fans, but it is a risk I must take. I, Robot is just okay (not like Oklahoma). Smith plays the role he always does, a cocky, aggressive "hero." He performed almost identically in Independence Day.

In a mid-21st century Chicago, Del Spooner (Smith) must investigate the murder of Dr. Miles Hogenmiller, an employee for U.S. Robotics. Spooner was never a friend of technology, but he takes on the job anyway. Luckily, for him, he has the help of expert Dr. Susan Calvin. They soon realize that an advanced robot, Sonny, may have been the murderer. Unfortunately, no one believes them because that would break the basic laws of robotics. They must warn the world to prepare to fight the machines they built themselves.

To the film's credit, it does have amazing special effects. The acting isn't that bad either. If you are interested in a good sci-fi movie…this is it. If Will Smith is one of your favorite actors, then I suggest you watch this movie, but if none of the above appeals to you, then just rent it. It is worth that small amount of money. At times the film bored me, but this just isn't my thing so that may not apply to you.

My Rating = Two and a Half Stars
