Harry Potter fans rejoice! During the summer months it is very difficult to find a movie that deserves a bad score. Luckily (for you) , there is another great movie in theatres. ! Even though I missed the premiere, I went to see it at an IMAX theatre in partial 3-D which only magnified the experience. If you have one in your area I suggest you go see it above all else. On the eve of the release of the final book, there is no better way to fulfill your cravings than to watch the best entry (film) in the series yet.

The wizarding world is in a crisis. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (Voldemort) has returned and the Ministry of Magic refuses to except the very idea of it. So, instead of calmly discussing it with Dumbledore and Harry over tea, they slander their names in the media. Harry can't even find peace at Hogwarts either. Hagrid is no where to be found, his friends are becoming untrustworthy, and to top it off the Ministry has placed a teacher ( Staunton ) in the school to keep an eye on Dumbledore. Sooner than later, she replaces Dumbledore and begins making school life miserable. Oh, yea, did I mention that Voldemort was back?!

Imelda Staunton really sells the show. Her lovable approach to pure evil will chill you to the bone while leaving a bit of serenity in the air. I can't leave out the trio's skill either! Radcliffe, Grint, and Watson show off their best performances yet in some of the more emotional scenes. Fortunately, the fifth installment has taken a much darker side in comparison to the previous four. Some parts were actually scary. Yes, we are still talking about Harry Potter. Regardless of your knowledge of the world, books, etc. you will enjoy this film. My mother can't stand it, and she actually gave it an above average score. That is a major accomplishment...trust me. I could go on forever, but with the best acting, greatest story, and most fluent story so far, why would you even dream of missing this movie?

Catch and Release (2006)

"...dull, predictable, and lacking..."

I absolutely adored Erin Brockovich so, I expected this movie to be just as appealing. That taught me a lesson about assuming. This train wreck was nearly unwatchable except for a few scenes that lead you to believe the film is going somewhere. BRRRNN! Wrong answer!

Gray Wheeler's (Garner) fiancé is killed. I wish I could tell you why, but the movie decided against letting us know. Devastated, Gray begins to go through his things to remember the "good" times when she finds his cell phone displaying ten missed calls. Naturally, she investigates and discovers his lover and a child he failed to mention. Believe me when I say that it sounds a whole lot better on paper.

Catch and Release was all that I had expected it to be; dull, predictable, and lacking the story department. It may have actually been good if the story was in the correct order, or if it had one to begin with. Jennifer Garner was charming when the script allowed it and Smith was as good as you could expect, but Susannah Grant should have done something to bring this film's script out of the grave. Unfortunately, directors are often blinded because they are unable to criticize their own work.

My Rating = One and a Half Stars
