You knew this was coming. A movie that received high praise and caused much controversy would eventually pop up. Brokeback Mountain is emotional in every aspect and the number of awards alone should, on some level, compel you to watch this masterpiece if you haven't already. This film takes place in 1963 Texas and Wyoming where conservative minds rule the land. Two men meet after they accept a job herding sheep during one fateful summer. Unexpectedly, their friendship turns into a torrid affair and makes that summer one they will never forget. Later in life, Jack (Gyllenhaal) returns to Ennis (Ledger), but theirs wives stand in the way of their happiness.
Yes, these men are homosexuals, and yes, there is kissing (and at one point more than kissing), but I promise you guys won't get too turned on. Both actors portray their characters with much more passion than any other film that appears on their resumé. They most certainly deserved their awards, but I cannot leave out the wives wonderful portrayal in some of the most heart wrenching scenes. Don't be surprised when you find that you are crying when the credits roll. This is the first time I have given out a perfect score and Brokeback Mountain deserves it.

The Village was probably my favorite film of 2004. If anyone happens to remember, as do I, critics weren't so pleased with the latest effort from M. Night Shyamalan. In my opinion it is his greatest work, but I am more than positive that most will disagree with me.A rural Pennsylvanian community live in fear of strange, unseen creatures that occupy their bordering woods. Somewhere along the way, the Elders make a truce that no one shall stray from the village's safety as long as the creatures never enter. Frequent sightings of the creature within the village's perimeter begins to scare everyone into a frenzy until one brave, blind woman decides that she will make it through the dreaded forest and find help for a loved one's wound.
Names such as Joaquin Phoenix, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Sigourney Weaver appear in this movie and their acting is brilliant! Regardless of what anyone else says, this movie has a wonderful script, plot, and character development which keeps you guessing throughout the entire film. The Sixth Sense is equal in greatness to The Village and fans of the thriller, or suspense genre should check this movie out. My only complaint is the poor advertising. I was expecting horror, yet I still walked out with a smile on my face.

In this film, Jesse Metcalfe stars as campus hotshot John Tucker. Four girls known as, Kate, Heather, Beth, and Carrie are seeking revenge on this chronic cheater and will stop at nothing to receive it. They play various pranks to get even, and sooner than later they begin to see that they may have a chance. This seemingly invincible jock will have to change his ways, or he will become the next class joke. You will laugh from beginning to end while these girls get the payback that they deserve after being cheated on by John. The creativity in their forms of mischief keeps the movie alive and interesting. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a good laugh, and doesn't mind watching the person that everyone wants to be, fall flat on his face.
When critics said that this was the coolest comedy since Mean Girls they weren't lying! Don't get me wrong though. This movie does have its flaws. I mean, come on, we could have done without the herpes presentation, and the "Other" Tucker just took away from the movie's flow.
