The Web Poetry Corner - Wesley A. Storer - The Roses of Versailles

The Roses of Versailles

by

Wesley A. Storer

He was not allowed to see her
All they would let him do
Was kind of stand in one spot

Move around a little bit and shake
While watching her from across the room
In that old church down the road

He loved her with all his heart and soul
but he had nothing to offer her
And now the shakers are gone

(What a shame! I believe these people
were some of the finest people who ever
lived.---------I don't know where the words
for my poems come from. I hope the good Lord
has something to do with it.)
