The Web Poetry Corner - Thomas Leatherbarrow - Time

Time

by

Thomas Leatherbarrow

They say that times a healer
of that I do not know
They say that times a healer
then why wont this pain go
Is it because this pain is different
I’ve tried and tried to shake it off and yet its still persistent

I hope you are feeling this as much I
Yet I know if I were to ask you,
then you would point blank lie

Coz time it seems to be your friend
On it I know you can depend
For you it wipes the slate away
But don’t you see there their to stay

Hidden under a vial of lies
That life is better, and yet she cries
She cries because she cannot see what time has truly done to thee

All time does is make it worse
If you trust in time then you’ll be cursed
Cursed to a life of ifs’s and and’s
You must grab your life now,
with both of your hands

Because those nightmares of your past
May fade but they will always last
And you have not confronted them when you have had the chance
So do me one more favour look at me, and do not glance

Look into my very soul
Look and see, I can make you whole
don’t write me off or put me in your line
Whatever you do don’t abandon me to time

NEXT?
Why don't you look at He Feels The Time Is Ripe
