The Web Poetry Corner - Thomas Leatherbarrow - Surfaced

Surfaced

by

Thomas Leatherbarrow

I hid it
I covered it
Was convinced it would not stay
But the other night
It surfaced
It never went away

When upon me
The horror dawned
I didn’t know what to say
Because the other night
It surfaced
It has not gone away

Appalled and shocked
Disturbed, disgraced
Ill take come what may
As I know again
It’ll surface
And by god I fear that day

I said id never do that
I am not him
His fists and legs would flay
And if I bury it
It will surface
And forever it will stay

NEXT?
Why don't you look at angel
