The Web Poetry Corner - Thomas Leatherbarrow - Differences

Differences

by

Thomas Leatherbarrow

Now I’ve realised that we are so different
are we destined to be
Have you, do you, can you love me

Is this a opinion of mine or something just
bent from truth
something that scares me like old from youth

I want to cement us but I’m so scared
to bring you down
You’re a free spirit and ill make you drown

For want of a better word I’m a disease
you wont find a cure
Ill clip your wings you’ll fall to the floor

I try my hardest to keep these thoughts
for I don’t now how to say
I need you ,I want you, I love you. in any other way

I don’t think I’ve realised how broken I am
SHE only scratched the surface
But with you its different it feels like a furnace

With you there’s pressure and heat is forever present
like molten emotion
Always ingrained in my heart your my sole devotion

Its sad I know but you’re my star in a cloudy sky
hope is forever present
I just dream and pray that you’ll never be that distant

Differences rise and yet they set like the sun
To me its never been so clear
Its those its them the difference’s that keep you here

NEXT?
