Cycle of pain
by
Thomas Leatherbarrow
You are like the solitary sun in the sky
And have all the grace of the birds that fly
Within its vast realms of icy blue
Its like the tainted soul that rests in you
Sometimes it can burn and consume your day
But like the scars its there to stay
To remind you of your putrid past
And the torment that will always last
And if left to long it will perish then fade
Then something that’s desperate and much worse will be made
A black hole of feelings that strips people bare
To quench the unquenchable to rip and to tear
Once this daemon is made it cant be undone
Never to return to being the angelic sun
Although it may scold and blister your flesh
When it descends the moon will refresh
You are also like the moons Iridescent light
You can sparkle and shimmer and dance in the night
Two half’s of you there are and will be
One is of anguish the other Tranquillity
Unless you make haste you’ll inevitable see
Days pass into nights then imprint on thee
And the burning terrors will rampage and be rife
Until one day the conclusion
It will devour your life
