The Web Poetry Corner - Thomas Leatherbarrow - Blood
Blood
by
Thomas Leatherbarrow
You have done something I never could
And all I see is rivers of blood
Its very easy to explain
Because every time is just the same
You cut yourself and bleed in the sink
You do it for release, I think
Then you call early in the morn
And keep me awake until dawn
You just want my attention
So what better way than with lacerations
I’m not saying that its for me
But I do wish that you were free
Free of the blood that engulfs your soul
You don’t need to cut to feel whole
The rivers of blood flow thick and fast
For once, you know that it will last
Now you will die and that is all
And you wouldn’t say what was your goal.
