The Web Poetry Corner - Thomas Leatherbarrow - Always waiting
Always waiting
by
Thomas Leatherbarrow
I’ve tried I’ve lied to myself and all
I cant shut this out I’m waiting to fall
I wait as night draws
I wait as day breaks
But I ask myself how long will I wait
What I wait for I want to be true
You see what I wait for is a message from you
I wait and wait but nothing will fade
Come back in a few years and see what you’ve made
Time it waits for no-one of that you’ll see
Time it waits for no-one, no-one except for me
For me it seems to linger go on and on and on
For me it seems to linger and is never nearly gone
I’m waiting for a call that I know will never come
And as I sit so empty now and watch the raising sun
I reminisce of the bliss of all that had begun
On that fateful morning we lay and watched the sun
Now I know that I will always wait
But I have no regret’s
I’ve accepted my fate
