The Web Poetry Corner - T. J. Daniels - WORLDS APART BUT I FELT YOUR PAIN

WORLDS APART BUT I FELT YOUR PAIN

by

T. J. Daniels

I wanted to put my arms around you
comfort you

but they could not reach.

There were too many generations
languages
and distance
in the way.

There were many things
I wanted to tell you...

That you and I have traveled down
many of the same roads
encountered many of the same demons
and I've survived
and you can too...

but couldn't.

Because there were
too many years

distance
and worlds
in the way.
