The Web Poetry Corner - T. J. Daniels - THE SINGER COULD NOT SING
THE SINGER COULD NOT SING
by
T. J. Daniels
She was a melody
that even those
who could not hear
knew the words.
Even those
without ears
heard her song.
I who could not carry a tune
wanted to sing
as a singer sings his song.
Since I had no voice
with which to sing
I could not sing my song.
