IS IT VISION THAT I LACK?

I hold my shield high
to thwart off all the blows.

Where come those slings and arrows?
I'm shielded from my foes.

But my shield blocks my vision
my foe is at my back.

Something is dreadfully wrong
it is vision that I lack.
