The Web Poetry Corner - T. J. Daniels - GRANDMA WAS A GENTLE BEAST
GRANDMA WAS A GENTLE BEAST
by
T. J. Daniels
As long as you didn't make her mad.
I remember the few times
that grandpa had.
Then when she quickly put him in his place
you should have seen his face.
It would become very red
but then
he'd remember
why he loved her.
First he'd smile
then he'd grin.
Then sometimes
he'd start in again.
They were together for many years
so something must have worked.
