The Web Poetry Corner - T. J. Daniels - AND I LOVE YOU NOW
AND I LOVE YOU NOW
by
T. J. Daniels
I spoke to you
many times.
I'm not sure
if you remember...
You were so very young.
I told you how much
your Mother and I loved you.
Do you remember when I said
I couldn't wait
to hold you in my arms?
I told you
who I was...
Your Daddy!
I even sang to you
but I sang very quietly
so only you could hear
'cause I didn't sing very well.
I know that you liked the song
'cause I could feel you kicking.
'Course
you could have been kicking
because you didn't like my singing.
But that's ok
'cause I loved you then
and love you now.
Daddy.
