She was his first love
but he was not her first.

Nor would he be her last
but she was his.

He was only a one-night stop
on her journey through life.

He suffered tortured days
sleepless nights.

She moved on.

He couldn't.

No one knew
how much he hurt

but he stopped the rain.

She took his heart
but he stopped the pain.

Many years ago, a friend took his life. He had fallen in love with the first woman that had been kind to him.
