The Web Poetry Corner - Sunnyone - and when she dreams
and when she dreams
by
Sunnyone
She closes weary eyes and soon escapes into
the hallways of her mind...
She can’t control which empty room
that she will choose,
or what therein she’ll find...
A never ending mystery...to dream,
alive within a secret place...
The only hint she gives of how she dreams,
becomes the look upon her face...
A smile is playing at the corner of her lips,
they’re soft and cherry red...
Her fantasies are pulling her into a favorite dream,
within her head...
She’s at the point where she still has
the power to choose to leave,
or should she stay?
Her dream is calling...now she’s past the point,
to turn her back, and run away...
She finds herself inside a room of velvet walls,
and curtains made of lace...
Next to the bed, a single rose is gently floating,
in a crystal vase...
The doors are open to a porch that looks upon a
smooth and tropic sea...
She realizes...
this has always been the way
she thought a dream should be...
And now there’s but one element she needs,
to make this perfect dream complete...
She knows that if she slowly turns,
she’ll face the one she has wished so hard
to meet...
And though, in life, they’re strangers to each other,
and the odds against are great...
Within her dream, they’ll love as one...
And cold reality will have to wait...
The light is falling on her face,
and bringing her around,
to wake once more...
She wakes within the very room,
with velvet walls and open, lacy doors...
Upon the bed, his sleeping form...
The smile upon his face is now revealed...
For he is dreaming she is here...
And who’s to say if dreams cannot be real?
