To My Son---Where are you?

by

To my son, Andrew Todd Rairden
if anyone knows him, please email me at: sunnyone52@excite.com
Thank you

I don’t know where you are_
You left my life so many years ago_
I’ve searched both near and far_
So many things that I would like to know_

I still can see your face_
The smile I didn’t know would be my last_
You left without a trace_
And part of me can’t let go of the past_

The years are slipping by_
It’s been so long that we have been apart..
And I just don’t know why_
You ran away, you broke this mother’s heart_

But I’ve got memories_
And when I close my eyes, I see you smile_
The one I love the best_
The first time I held you, my first-born child_

But memories don’t compare_
To knowing that you’re safe and doing well_
And in this mother’s heart_
Each day that’s spent not knowing is pure Hell_

Please_if you read these lines_
I hope you’ll feel that pain, and understand_
That I just want to see you, I have done my best_
The rest is in your hands_
