The Web Poetry Corner - Sunnyone - Hold me...not too Tightly

Hold me...not too Tightly

by

Sunnyone

Hold me in your arms of love,
but give me room to fly...
Hold me, not too tightly,
and I’ll never say goodbye...

Let me grow within myself,
and make my own mistakes...
Let me take my chances,
even if my heart should break...

Your arms are there to help me stand,
and lift if I should fall...
But if I am to learn to fly,
I first must learn to crawl...

Understand my growing need,
to walk my path, my way...
Then hold me, not too tightly,
and forever I will stay...
