Green Dragon Eyes
by

Beware the green dragon, a cold-hearted beast...
Creeping into your innocent lives...
To take down his victims, upon them to feast...
In guises of husbands and wives...
His eyes look upon everything that you’ve done...
And green with pure envy they turn...
The innocent other can feel it begin,
but tries to deny what is learned...
The dragon has loomed high above all the while...
But one partner chose not to see...
And blindly denied what was known in her heart...
With envy, a love cannot be...
There’s always a question, there’s always the pain...
There’s never a change to be tried...
With false accusations, and burning remarks,
the love once inside, simply died...
To look in the eyes of a mate and see nothing,
but jealousy, which you despise...
Can only ensure that you just cannot stay,
in the gaze of those green-dragon eyes...
The longing to look into eyes full of love,
is a longing the heart has to bear...
And someday those eyes with their gentle clear gaze...
Will replace the cold green dragon stare...
