Conversation with the Moon
by
Sunnyone
Last night as I sat on the back step_
I gazed at the moon in the sky_
With so many questions that never had answers,
I decided to ask the moon why_
The moon has been man’s ancient symbol_
For stableness, light, and true love_
When man lifts his head to the stars twinkling bright,
There’s the moon smiling down from above_
So, Moon, can you give me some answers?
To questions we ask every day?
Like: why do the good things in life disappear,
while th e bad things just flourish and stay?
And tell me, is there any reason_
For what we call "love" in this life?
Two hearts join together, for "better" or "worse",
But the "worse" always cuts like a knife__.
And Moon, look what humans are doing_
To the planet they call "Home Sweet Home"_
Why can’t we just stop all the massive destruction,
Save the earth and just leave it alone?
Oh, Moon, do I see what I’m seeing?
Do you have a big tear in your eye?
Do you see little children fo to bed every night,
With the hunger that makes them all cry?
Yes, Moon, I can see you are watching_
Your place in our lives is defined_
You were put there for us to ask questions and talk to,
Like a friend____.you’ve been there through all time_.
Here’s my very last question to ask you_
Do you think there is life out in space?
I could swear I heard laughing, then I looked up to see_
That the Moon had a smile on it’s face!!!
