All is at Peace
by
Sunnyone
Sunset paints with golden fingers_
Breaking waves sprinkled with diamonds,
wash the sand from under her feet, where they
are planted at ocean’s edge_
Gulls fly overhead, soaking in the last golden
rays of daylight_
And_all is at peace in her world_
She looks as far across the ocean as her human
eyes can see, and wonders if he stands on
some distant shore, looking back_
Her sunset is his sunrise_
Her night is his day_
Still_all is at peace in her world_
Her eyes look up to the heavens, and she feels
the sun-tinted golden clouds rushing
overhead in the sea breeze_
Did his eyes behold the same clouds in his part
of the world?
Now_all is at peace in hers_
A tear slips from her eye, and joins the salty pool
below, while she tries to calm the tide of
longing in her heart_
Does he love as she?
Does he need as she?
She believes he does, and_
All is at peace in her world_
Darkness is swallowing up it’s last gulp of
light, in anticipation of the rising globe it claims
as it’s own_
A shooting star appears in the distant sky,
and she knows from whence it came_
And_all is at peace in her world_
This land, this ocean, this sky, these feelings,
these thoughts...
All are a part of the world in which she has to live_
She looks up one more time, and whispers
his name to a blinking star_
Just as he whispers hers in the first glow
of dawn_
