After Awhile

After awhile...the sun might start to shine...
And maybe some small dream I have,
will finally be mine...
Maybe if I hold my breath,
and wish with all my might...
After a while... your love will light my night...

After awhile...the tears might go away...
The ones I cry because I didn’t know,
which words to say...
I thought I said the perfect thing,
maybe you just didn’t hear...
After a while...your smile will dry my tears...

After a while...I won’t feel so alone...
Living days without your love,
hurts worse than I could have known...
Everything has turned to black,
and I can’t find my way...
After a while...your love will light my day...

After awhile...I’ll hear you call my name...
But something new will echo there,
it won’t sound quite the same...
You’ll realize you love me, too,
and take me to your heart...
Then after awhile...we’ll never be apart...
