The Web Poetry Corner - Stephan Hovell - Things

Things

by

Stephan Hovell

More`s the pity less`s the care,
the while we seem to wait,
an age to grin`n`bear.
The sea refuses no river,
back from whence they came,
mighty Amazon to babbling brook,
all are made from rain.
A dark and scary night,
a bright and sunny day,
witnessing opposite experiences,
in each and every way.
Being honest and knowing the truth,
are not things one and the same,
you say one thing,I hear another,
honesty`s easy,truth is a game.
Sugar and spice and all things nice,
candy is of a fashion,
flesh and blood from ash and mud,
come children of adults passion.
Secrets and quiet whispers,
rumour has it,words are cheap,
tongues split and lips with blisters,
little white lies and the peace to keep.
Sing and dance,run and play,
make sure to find the time,
you live life once,it`s here today,
and happiness is no crime.
