The Web Poetry Corner - Sheryl L. Lawrence - Your My Lighthouse

Your My Lighthouse

by

Sheryl L. Lawrence

Like an oceanliner or ship at sea,
I try to see Your light shine bright,
to get a glimpse of the lighthouse for me,
to say...Lord! Come and get me I plea!

The water is rocky and very rough.
I'm drowning in a sea of sorrows!
Oh Lord! Why does all this have to be so tough?
Please! Bring me safely back to shore.

The waves are raging it's anger at me,
like it's laughing and sneering as well.
Holding me prisoner to never be free!
And I cry in agony, oh Lord! Help me now!

Your my lighthouse, my only beacon.
Please shine Your light so I can see.
Save my soul Lord! Give me freedom!
Release me from this ship at sea!

Give me the strength to see the light,
a little beam of hope for me to see.
A little light lit brightly in the night,
that glimmers on the waters just for me.

Your my lighthouse, my guiding light.
Shine it on me please Lord, let me see again.
I don't want to drown! I want to fight!
Fight to be on shore and back home once more.
