The Web Poetry Corner - Sheryl L. Lawrence - There's You
There's You
by
Sheryl L. Lawrence
He works hard each day,
and she does as well.
When it comes to the pay,
it goes out faster than it comes in.
They wonder about the next meal,
or if there will be a roof to shelter.
Bill collectors are ready to steal,
their hard earned money made.
But Lord, through it all, there's You,
and there's the two of them with children.
Lord, they know Your there it's true,
and they know they have each other.
Your there to get them through,
whatever obstacle comes their way.
No matter how bad things are,
they seem to cling to the faith.
Even if the answers seem far,
they hang on to the hope of You.
But Lord, through it all, there's You,
and there's the two of them with children.
Lord, they know Your there, it's true,
and they know they have each other.
Your there to get them through,
whatever obstacle that comes their way.
Lord, through it all, there's You.
