The Web Poetry Corner - Sheryl L. Lawrence - Sept. 11th, 01 Terror Came

Sept. 11th, 01 Terror Came

by

Sheryl L. Lawrence

This world will never be the same.
The images will fade but never go away,
because Tuesday Sept. 11th, terror came,
making our lives change in one day.

An attack on all who live here,
with thousands of lives lost in one day.
A day of horror, shock, a day of fear,
leaving our hearts to mourn today.

Four planes made into missiles, all hijacked,
being the worst terrorist act in our time.
They knew, they planned this evil attack,
ending it in a suicidal planned crime.

Our twin world trade towers are no more.
Families and friends are torn apart,
leaving anguish, deep hurt to the core.
A tragedy felt deep within our hearts.

Images of a couple holding hands,
along with others leap from towers to their death.
Debris cascading down where all stands,
polluting the air, polluting each breath.

Yet we remain one, a stronger nation,
finally bringing us all together to pray.
Despite the attack on all civilization,
our Lord, our Savior is with us today.

No, our world will never be the same,
and the images will fade but never go away,
as Tuesday Sept. 11th, 01 terror came,
changing our lives in just one day.

May the Lord be with the family and loved ones of the ones who needleesly passed away on this fateful day. God Bless America.
