The Web Poetry Corner - Sheryl L. Lawrence - Out Of My Hands
Out Of My Hands
by
Sheryl L. Lawrence
I sat up thinking last night,
about how you don't trust me.
It's a feeling inside I can't fight,
and it's tearing my heart apart.
This agony is splitting my heart,
in two babe, what can I do 'cause,
it hurts down to the deepest part,
and I can feel it pulling at my heart.
I thought I was so strong,
only to find I was so wrong.
Now all I can do is pray,
as it's out of my hands today.
I can give and I can take,
but my limit has reached it's end.
I yearn for trust for our sake,
Can't you see I need you so?
I love you more than I can say,
but baby I can't take the hurt.
Don't make me leave someday,
or do you intend for it to be that way?
This agony is splitting my heart,
in two babe, what can I do 'cause,
it hurts down to the deepest part,
and I can feel it pulling at my heart.
I thought I was so strong,
only to find I was so wrong.
Now all I can do is pray,
as it's out of my hands today.
