The Web Poetry Corner - Sheryl L. Lawrence - Oh Lord, How I Love You
Oh Lord, How I Love You
by
Sheryl L. Lawrence
Oh Lord, how I love You,
and I know that You love me.
You saved such a sinner as I,
and opened my eyes so I could see.
If I never have anyone in my life,
I know for certain that I have You.
I know You will never leave me,
or hurt me, this I know is true.
I know I can turn to You, I'm not alone,
anymore or frightned or scared.
All my sins You bore upon Yourself,
for on the cross Your body You bared.
You are my good Sheppard,
and my Lord I am one of Your sheep.
I know if I should stray, You'll lead,
me back ah so gently, no sound, no peep.
Please don't ever let me go astray,
and stay within my heart Lord.
Your love I wish to never lose,
for the penalty I couldn't afford.
Oh Lord, how I love You,
and I know that You love me.
You saved such a sinner as I,
and opened my eyes so I could see.
