The Web Poetry Corner - Sheryl L. Lawrence - Let Me Remember
Let Me Remember
by
Sheryl L. Lawrence
When I am crushed and weary,
and the hope I lived for is gone,
the sorrows and trials look dreary,
let me remember Jesus, there is You.
When I think I have no friends at all,
and the world seems against me,
and it feels like I might take a fall,
let me remember Jesus, there is You.
when all my sorrows seem to thicken,
and crushes me with their burdens,
my heart beat races and quickens,
let me remember Jesus, there is You.
When the waters all seem to rise,
to the point I feel like I'm drowning,
and all ears become death to my cries,
let me remember Jesus, there is You.
When I'm feeling empty and alone,
feeling scared and very lost,
and have chills right to the bone,
let me remember Jesus, there is You.
No matter whether happy or sad,
I know there is one I can count on.
No matter whether angry or glad,
let me remember Jesus, there is You.
