He Was There
by
Sheryl L. Lawrence
We will never forget that September day,
or where we were at that moment in time.
Never forget the news or what we had to say,
but then again neither will He as He was there.
He was on the 90th floor in a smoked filled room,
with a man who called his wife to say goodbye.
He held his hand steady as he told her of his doom,
that he would not make it home ever again.
He held her up as she tryed to understand,
what her husband was saying to her that day.
He was with her holding her hand,
as she realized he wasn't coming home.
He was there, He was there,
in every heart, in every place.
With tears in His eyes He was there,
welcoming His children home.
Comforting ones alive, yeah He was there.
He was in the stairwell of the 30th floor,
when a woman cryed out to Him for help.
For 50 years He had been knocking on her door,
but He showed her the way to His home and hers.
He was in front of the tower with the Priest,
as he ministered to the injured souls.
He took him home when his body became deceased,
to tend his flock once again in Heaven.
He was on all four of those fateful planes,
in every seat, with every prayer He heard.
He was with the crew, felt all their pain.
He was with every believer, with everyone.
He was there, He was there,
in every heart, every place.
With tears in His eyes He was there,
welcoming His children home.
Comforting ones alive, yeah He was there.
He was in Vt., Texas, London, all over the place.
He was standing next to you when you heard,
the terrible news that couldn't be erased.
So tell me, did you sense Him on that day?
He saw every face, knew every name,
every moment He knew and felt the pain,
that changed the world to never be the same,
even though many did not ever know Him.
There was a reason why you are still here today.
You may not know why but He does.
On that fateful September dark day,
it was not the end of your journey.
Someday your journey will end too,
and He'll be there for you as well.
Seek Him now with a heart that's true,
today while He is able to be found.
He was there, He was there,
in every heart, in every place.
With tears in His eyes He was there,
welcoming His children home.
Comforting ones alive, Yeah He was there.
He WAS there..............
In memory of Peter, Susan, and Christine Hanson who perished on the plane that went through the second tower on September 11, 2001. May the Lord welcome you with loving arms. You are missed by all who love you.
