The Web Poetry Corner - Sherene Delgado - Little Sister

Little Sister

by

Sherene Delgado

I tried my best to redeem myself in your eyes
I know I've made mistakes
Only now I realize the effects of my choices on you
Hurting so much from the past I never realize I was hurting you
And your future
You look at me with such anger at time, that I see myself in you
I've made you into what I am
That's something I never wanted for you
I always wanted you to dream
To hope,
To love with all your heart and never to hold any back
But now because of me that may not happen
And I'm sorry for it
If I could take back all the cruel words I've said to you
I would
If I could wipe all the tears away from the past
I would
In my quest for revenge I took your faith in me away
I only hope that one day your faith in the world will return
That one-day we can some how find a common ground
And be sisters again
Till then all I can say to you is I'm sorry
For not being the sister you deserved
