The Web Poetry Corner - Sherene Delgado - I Wait

I Wait

by

Sherene Delgado

Death had eluded me thus far
But still I wait
Knowing that my time will come
Someday if not today

To brave to take my life
Yet to scared to live it
So I wait
Till this hell I call life comes to an end
Maybe then I can find peace
Peace for those around me
Peace for myself
Peace for a person who's only knowledge of the world has been of pain

Anger

Hate

Regret

These are the lessons life has taught me
This is all I know of the world
The reason why I’m willing to leave it
I can't find peace in life
I can only hope I find it in death
I don't make the mistake others do
I don't fear you
I know you are my friend
So I shall wait for you
Till the end
