The Web Poetry Corner - Sherene Delgado - Emotions

Emotions

by

Sherene Delgado

I never tried to change you.
You never did.
I never wanted to blame you.
You never admitted Blame.
I did my best to accept you, as some may not have been able to do
You used it to your advantage
I loved you
I guess you never felt the same
I sacrifice for you
I know you would not do the same for me.
I did the best I could when it came to you
No matter how I felt.
In the end...
I know how foolish I must have seem to someone like you
I once thought we were one.
One entity
One mind with the same thoughts
But now I know we are not
I guess when love is not enough
You have to learn to be strong and move on
So live your life as you see fit to
I wish you only happiness
Because that is all I ever wanted for you
I hold no hate
Nor anger for you
Because you are no longer in my life
The choice was yours alone to make
The path you choose
Irrevocable.
Life will do with you as it sees fit to
Only this time I will no longer care as to what is the outcome to your life's story.
For I will no longer be a part of it.
I didn't want to lose you
I don't want to hate you
But I don't want to be the one who cries any longer.
