A Child's Small Plea
by
Sherene Delgado
I'm plagued with sleepless nights because of you
The past is so hurtful that I don't want to remember
I can't remember
For if I do they come back
The tears that will never stop
I wonder in the dark of the night
"Why me"
What was so wrong with me that you couldn't love me?
Was I so ugly that you couldn't bare to look at me or worst yet...
Did you even have a reason?
I'm grown now
And yet I can't move on from the past
I know now that it wasn't your fault
Everyone makes mistakes
I just wish you never thought I was one.
