The Web Poetry Corner - Serpentinehb - Untitled #84

Untitled #84

by

Serpentinehb

In a city filled with life, why am I dead inside?
In days of searing light, why does darkness fill my eyes?
With a raincloud on my shoulders, heavy on my back,
A heart beset by burdens, what is it that I lack?

Standing on the corner, the edge of reasonable doubt
It's the pain I try to kill, but cannot live without.
Treading on my feelings, stepping over me,
Stab me in the back, with a knife I'll never see.

Do not try to reach me, when I go far away,
Just let me be, I'm fine you'll see
If at distance you will stay.

Do not try to coax me out of this fragile shell,
I'm happy to reside here,
In my own personal hell.
