The Web Poetry Corner - Serpentinehb - Untitled #7

Untitled #7

by

Serpentinehb

Fingerprints fade on black,
A hard-backed notebook inscribed with my deepest emotions,
I write in it now - my only release,
Music will not come at this late hour,
My eyes call out for sleep,
My body burns.
A silver ring wrapped around my finger,
Wedded to the next,
A book not yet read -
Another finished,
A great blue eye
Blazes with icy passion from the cover,
Footprints fade in the sand.
