The Web Poetry Corner - Satish Kakri - Pleasure

Pleasure

by

Satish Kakri

What pleasure is that which ends in pain?
What joy is that which brings no gain?

It is easy to be wayward; hanker after vile games.
But is that all; you are worthy of?
Will not the creator scoff?
For human birth is a gift so precious
That wasting it is not only foolish but also nefarious.

One has to work for the improvement of human life,
and development of human society.

Animals also live; But is that life human?
Yet they eat to live; not live to eat as man and woman.
Man so intelligent is often a fool!
When he gloats over drink, food; taste his tool!
What good is the learning, what good are schools?
If man was only to break ‘sacred’ rules.
