The Web Poetry Corner - Satish Kakri - Modern Mind

Modern Mind

by

Satish Kakri

No longer mind is pure
And chaste,
Full of simple smiles,
Pleasures in haste
Leaving far behind those beautiful
Innocent years
When little things would bring to mind
Lots of cheers.

Exposed to abundant selfishness around
Affected, afflicted; in greed it abounds
Sweet lingering dreams are made abrupt
Pursues desires demanding and corrupt

When will wisdom dawn on the mankind?
When pleasant peace will stay, in human mind?
