The Web Poetry Corner - Satish Kakri - Idleness

Idleness

by

Satish Kakri

He slept during the night
And rested away the day
Putting off jobs without spite
For tomorrow was better than today.
Postponement, he thought, could
Bring better results; it should.
Not be a problem if time is lost.
Time was a commodity, without cost.
He believed, he was smart enough
Shortcuts to success never was tough
So what if he doesn’t like
To do it then and there
Others are the working spike.
Their fruits, he would share.
Throughout his span, he planned,
To do many things successfully.
His idleness, he did never bend
Without notice, came his end.
