The Web Poetry Corner - Satish Kakri - 'Straightforward'

'Straightforward'

by

Satish Kakri

'I am straightforward', he said.
Straightforward or an easy walk?
No connivance before the, talk?
'Tis hard for him to earn his bread!

In the garb of goodness,
Completely ignoring the finesse.
One's own indolent attitude
Deprives one, worldly wisdom, doesn't
Compel him, to brood.

World itself is not straight, but round
Adopt worldly ways to success sound.
At every moment, to think, you need
Opponents game plan, his mind, to read.

It is a battle all the time,
Not with weapons, but with your mind.
