The Web Poetry Corner - Samantha M Jones - One moment (A day in infamy)

One moment (A day in infamy)

by

Samantha M Jones

In a moment, many a life was ended
For a cause that nobody understands
In the blink of an eye, life transcended
But for a moment, the whole world joined hands

In an instant, myriad dreams lay shattered
And I'm sure God heard our cries
People's freedom, must be what really matters
So that evil can't rule...with it's lies

We will fight every day, to be free, come what may
Standing shoulder to shoulder...asking why?
Yet there's a glimmer of hope, as we watch people cope
Raising proud...their flag to the sky

So in that moment, the world came together
Sharings pain...so everyone understands,
that our goal must be global peace, forever
Standing tall, with the world...holding hands
