The Web Poetry Corner - Samantha M Jones - Oh Diana

Oh Diana

by

Samantha M Jones

Your footsteps can be heard through the corridors of life
Your gentle voice will always keep on calling
No-one took the time to feel your pain amid such strife
How sad from Royal grace you were falling
But I heard you oh Diana...as did many, many more
If only we'd the power to protect you
Give them all the guidance to show the wrong before
That caused you endless pain which confused you
You turned to everyone, to set your torment free
When those you really trusted let you down
How sad the powers that be...they really couldn't see
You were the only jewel in their crown
Still we the people felt...the love you did impart
Such care you gave to each and everyone
We took you to our hearts, our special "Queen of hearts"
So sad you're precious work was not quite done
Yet we hear you oh Diana from the heavens far away
And sadly ask the question....why oh why?
Did such beauty have to leave us in such a tragic way
To be the brightest star in the sky
