The Web Poetry Corner - Samantha M Jones - No claim to fame

No claim to fame

by

Samantha M Jones

I'm bored to tears...where is my fame
"It's overdue", I cry!
I wanna see my name in lights
In letters six feet high
I wanna be on Wogan's show
Jay Leno's would be nice
Instead of strugglin' with me work
And turning toward vice
To supplement me income
Pay the gas and phone
The 'listening bank' 'ave all gawn deaf
They won't give me a loan
I've sent it all to 'Parky'
Some to the B.B.C.
But I think they've all gone out
'cause no-one writes to me
To tell me I'll be famous
My work will be a hit
They only write to tell me
"Stop sending us this s...t"
