The Web Poetry Corner - Samantha M Jones - Come back

Come back

by

Samantha M Jones

I walked with heavy foot, staring bleakly out to space
Remembering those steel blue eyes upon your youngish face
That smile you always showed, even though the pain was there
Memories so deep within that you could never share
I'm sorry that you never read those thoughts within my head
I should have told you, "I love you" not fooled around instead
Still, you always knew my humour, just slightly off the wall
I couldn't get away with it...least not from you, at all
Always seeing through me, giving me no slack
But I'd give up everything I have...if only you'd come back

God bless mum and safe journey.
