Another World

She walked along the seashore as the sun was setting low
The pain so deep within her, there was nowhere else to go
The tide was turning outward, the water cold upon her feet
No sign of anyone now though they'd promised they would meet
She leaned against the breaker, tears falling from her eyes
How could she not have noticed the deception and the lies
The friends she'd turned agaist as their stories they'd unfurled
So gently stepping downward, slipped into another world
