The Web Poetry Corner - Ronnie Lamkin - The Turtledove
The Turtledove
by
Ronnie Lamkin
I heard a turtledove
Its mournful song he sung
coo, coo coo
I wondered with all my might
Where his mate had gone
Coo, coo, coo
How much are we the same
That turtledove and me
Coo, coo, coo
And with him I too would mourn
If my love were forlorned
Coo, coo, coo
Poor turtledove
Fly and be free
Coo, coo, coo
And with your love
Build a nest
Coo, coo, coo
Build it with love and honestness
Or forwarned with you be
NEXT?
Why don't you look at
