Could You Do It?

by

Robert Cameron Hazelton

Imagine knowing you may not survive
That your new buddy from Texas may not be alive
You think of your hometown, your Mom and your Dad
The blue eyes of a girl, all the good times you had.

You land on the beach and the fire is thick
Yet you struggle and strive, hit the deck quick
You never asked to be put here, but you will not fold
For pure Love of Country you’ll suffer horrors untold.

Thank God for the People who cared enough to fight
Without them we would all be in a terrible plight
They sacrificed so much so we could be free today
Be thankful for their unselfishness this Memorial Day.
